Randy Evans
In April 2020, Randy was appointed by Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried to fill the vacancy of former Commissioner Sandy Applefield, at the Pasco County Mosquito Control District (PCMCD), and sworn into office in May 2020. In November 2020, he retained his seat in the General election, taking 67% of the vote.
Commissioner Evans has been married to his beautiful wife Michelle, for 32 years, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Nicole and Emma, grandparents to Monroe, and a collie named Lola. Commissioner Evans grew up in Clearwater, FL, and is a graduate of Dunedin High School. In high school, Randy was Captain of the Scottish Highlander Band; and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, with Silver Palm, the God and Country Award, World Conservation Award, 100 Mile Afoot/Afloat Award, and was an Order of the Arrow member.
Randy began a 27-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard as a federal law enforcement officer, Search and Rescue boat captain, and law enforcement and defensive tactics instructor, before becoming a Special Agent for the Coast Guard Investigative Service. As a Special Agent, Randy served in numerous leadership positions as the acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge of two multi-state regions and the Resident Agent in Charge of three remote offices. Shortly after 9/11, Randy served as a Federal Air Marshal from 2001-2002. He was elected President of the Chief Petty Officer’s Association, Cape May Chapter, and was a Cape May and Philadelphia Chapter Delegate to the 2003 National Convention. Randy is a Silver Lifetime member of the Chief Petty Officer’s Association and a member of the Chief Warrant Officer’s Association.
Randy holds a Master’s degree in Security Management from American Military University, and Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College, and an Associate’s degree from Central Texas College.
Upon retirement, Randy served on the Board of Directors for his HOA, is involved in his Church, and a member of Clearwater Lodge #127 F & AM, Tampa Scottish Rite, and Egypt Temple Shrine.
