How We Control Mosquitoes

The PCMCD delivers effective, science-based mosquito control using a variety of tools and strategies tailored to the life cycle and behavior of local mosquito populations. This section offers a behind-the-scenes look at how our team applies treatments across Pasco County, whether from the ground or the air, while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency, responsiveness, and environmental safety.

We utilize an Integrated Mosquito Management (IMM) approach that combines surveillance, source reduction, larvicide, adulticide, and public education. When treatments are necessary, our method of application is carefully selected based on real-time data, mosquito species and activity, weather conditions, and habitat type.
