Matthew "Skeeter" Abbott has been a dedicated Commissioner for the Pasco County Mosquito Control District since 2007. His extensive experience in public service is complemented by his role as Vice Chairman of the Florida Mosquito Control Association and his active membership in the American Mosquito Control Association. Abbott’s professional background includes over two decades representing Kodak in Florida and the Caribbean, showcasing his expertise in leadership and regional outreach. Currently, he applies his negotiation and community skills as an active Broker with ReMax Alliance.

Born in the Florida Keys, Abbott relocated to the Nature Coast more than 45 years ago, where he has continued to deepen his commitment to public health and community well-being. He is unwavering in his dedication to protecting every citizen from mosquito-borne illnesses and enhancing public health services across Pasco County. His long-standing involvement and leadership demonstrate a profound commitment to safeguarding residents and fostering safer, healthier communities.
